Our Next Big Event
November 12-17, 2018 - We are starting a new tradition in Amish Country. We're teaming up with 50 local, small Amish stores to pack as many shoe boxes as possible. Our goal for this year is 36,000 boxes!
If we reach that goal, it would be a world record for the biggest shoe box drive in the country.
Why Homestead?
Your home is unique. Why would you fill it with mass-produced, cookie-cutter furniture? Whether you want to design a piece down to the studs, or simply select the exact size and color you need, we love to take on specialty projects. We actually build your furniture from the ground up and allow you to influence every step of the process, because your opinion is the one that matters.

We specialize in custom furniture. Take a look at some of the pieces we've designed. Ready to dream about the perfect piece of furniture for you? Plan a visit to our store, and let's get started making something specifically for you.
We're not your average furniture store
Homestead is located on more than 20 acres of rolling Ohio countryside. We invite visitors to experience our whole campus — tour the factory, then wander through our lush gardens, where we showcase trees of each species of wood we use in our construction. A beautiful waterfall and pond make a tranquil setting, and we also house an event center where weddings, meetings, and more take place each year.
The way we build furniture is a little different from most manufacturers.
For example, one craftsman will build a piece from start-to-finish — there are no assembly lines in our construction process.
All of our pieces get sanded and finished by hand, because we believe that attention to detail is key to creating a long-lasting, heirloom-quality piece of furniture.
We also include our customer in each part of the design process — no matter what, we never say ‘no’ to your design vision.

“ What really works for us coming here is to have somebody that really guides us along in a consultative way and that’s what Dan has done for us. The second part is what my wife Linda and I have felt coming here is a sense of trust. We didn’t feel like we were being pushed onto something. ”
“ Ben Hershberger was fantastic to work with. I’ve got nothing but praise for him. He explained everything thoroughly to us and left the decision making up to my wife and I, as far as the type of wood and things. There was no pressure. He offered to take us on our plant tour, every one of your customers should go on your plant tour because it’s a great education. We’re really pleased with our beautiful furniture. I love going to see your furniture. Every time we’re in the area we love to stop in the store, see the great (live edge) slabs on the wall. ”
“ We never were really able to get the quality we wanted. We were shopping locally and at big box stores. The furniture looked nice but it wasn’t long before the furniture was basically falling apart. We heard of Homestead because of a neighbor who had purchased their dining room table from you guys. I’m a wood worker so I was amazed. There are other good stores around but I consider you guys a step above. It seems like your quality is unbeatable. I’m sitting at the desk you custom made and it’s perfect. ”
“ We’ve been coming to Homestead Furniture for 8-9 years. We had a friend that turned us on to Homestead. We were going to other places down there (Amish Country) and weren’t always finding the pieces we wanted. Homestead is the only place we go now. The one piece that we probably love the most is in the entrance way. We made an entry way table and a glass shelf. It’s something we see every day. And we get comments from everyone that comes in the house. My kids have already put their names on it so when we pass away they want it. ”
A Magazine by Homestead Furniture
Here at Homestead, we believe that every piece of furniture in your home can be beautifully crafted, American-made and customized to fit your personal style. Because we have our own factory across the street from our store, we have the ability to custom-design each piece we produce. In other words: You dream it, we’ll build it; we won’t say “no.”
